40 years of baking in Horana
It started with one loaf and a wood oven he built himself.
In 1986, in the village of Horana, Mr. B. A. L. Wijayasiri baked his first loaf of bread in a wood-fired oven of his own making. He sold it from a small shop with his wife and a handful of helpers.
Word travelled. Customers kept coming back for more, and the little shop grew into Wijayasiri Fresh Food (Pvt) Ltd: a bakery, a pastry shop and an open restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner under one roof on Rathnapura Road.
